What I thought was an ear ache soon progressed to inlcude an eye twitch, next the inability to close my left eye and then finally the inability to move the left side of my nose and mouth. My first thought was stroke, but I've been trying so hard to eat healthy how could that be? My sister's friend told her it was Bell's Palsy which is fairly common in pregnant women.
I went and saw a neurologist this morning and that is exactly my diagnosis: I have a viral infection which is constricting the facial nerve on the left side of my face, causing paralysis of my facial muscles. I am on meds now and should be ok in a few weeks and the little bit of paralysis I have should subside. I also get to wear an eye patch...
Yeah for more fun pregnancy stuff, ARRGGG!
